Creelman's World's Star Sock Machine Instruction Manual
||The Creelman Brothers' World's Star knitting machine was advertised as Creelman's finest ribbing machine for knitting fully fashioned hosiery.
The 64 page instruction manual is divided into four sections. Section one describes the operation of the cylinder cams, needle action and stitch formation.
Section two teaches the basics of setting up the machine, threading the yarn mast and correcting dropped stitches.
Section three, entitled, "Practical Knitting on the Plain Machine", commences with men and women's plain stockings.
Patterns for muffs, skating hoods, tippets, cuffs and other garments are included. Instructions on knitting circular mats, vandyke tops, gored skirts and ladies' overshoes are also represented. A wealth of ornamental stitches such as the dew-drop stitch and the counterpane pattern are an added compliment.
Section four explains how to utilise the ribbing attachment to create fully fashioned, ribbed stockings. A price list with illustrations concludes the manual. A photocopy of Creelman's World's Star instruction manual is available in english.
